Dear Colleagues,
I hope this message finds you well as spring gets underway! With summer
just around the corner, now is a great time to explore professional
development opportunities that fit your goals, calendars, and contexts.
Rebus is excited to share that registration is open for our Summer 2026
certificate programs, designed to support educators in creating meaningful,
open course materials.
Supplemental Materials Development Certificate (SMC)
<https://rebus.community/supplemental-materials-development-certificate/>
The SMC is a six-week collaborative course (May 18-June 30) where educators
build open, student-centered course materials — interactive self-checks,
authentic assessments, in-class activities, and more — with hands-on
support from an expert facilitator and a community of peers. Participants
walk away with at least one ready-to-use artifact.
Early bird pricing ends March 31
<https://rebus.community/supplemental-materials-development-certificate/regi…>,
and regular registration closes April 30. Subsidized fees and full
scholarships are also available through generous support from the William
and Flora Hewlett Foundation. Simply reach out <contact(a)rebus.community> to
introduce yourself, and share a bit about your interest!
Open Publishing Projects Certificate (OPC)
<https://rebus.community/open-publishing-projects-certificate/>
The OPC is an extended, three-phase program where teams work together to
plan, manage, and publish high-quality open materials from concept to
release with expert facilitators and ongoing support every step of the way.
If you've been considering an OER publishing project at your institution,
the OPC offers the structure and community to make it happen. Please email
us <contact(a)rebus.community> to learn more, express interest in the Summer
2026 cohort, or discuss dates that work for you.
Both programs award a microcredential and digital badge upon completion.
If you'd like to learn more before committing, we'd love to see you at our
upcoming information session on Wednesday, April 1 from 2:00-2:20pm
ET. Register
to attend or receive the recording
<https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/I9riodqnSLGtrNvvp7b73Q>.
Please feel free to share these opportunities with colleagues who might be
interested. We hope to see you this summer!
