The call for proposals<https://bccampus.ca/grants-calls-for-proposals/call-for-proposals-open-educ…> is now live and will close at 11:59 p.m. Pacific on Monday, January 19, 2026. This is the third year we are offering this funding program. In 2025, we funded 13 in-person, hybrid, and virtual events, including seminars, celebrations, and workshops. To learn more about the kinds of events we fund, read our blog post about the Open Education Week 2024 sponsorship program<https://bccampus.ca/2024/12/09/reflecting-on-open-education-week-2024/>. It’s very simple to apply. As detailed in the call for proposals, send an email to me, Arianna Cheveldave (acheveldave(a)bccampus.ca<mailto:acheveldave@bccampus.ca>), describing the event you would like to host during the week of March 2 to 6, 2026. Please also include basic identifying information for the lead applicant, your intended audience for the event, how much funding you would like to request up to $1000, and what specifically you would spend the money on. If you would like to meet with me to brainstorm or ask any questions before you submit your application, please reach out. BCcampus Open Education is proud to sponsor events that will highlight open education activity at your institution, generate engaging discussions between novices and experts, and bolster the open education community in British Columbia and the Yukon. Sincerely, Arianna Cheveldave, BA she/her Coordinator, Open Education Hear my name<https://namedrop.io/ariannacheveldave> Email: acheveldave(a)bccampus.ca<mailto:acheveldave@bccampus.ca> • LinkedIn: arianna-cheveldave<https://www.linkedin.com/in/arianna-cheveldave/> • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • BCcampus, Vancouver Learning. by BC Open 09 Dec '25

09 Dec '25
Le français suit Dear colleagues, You are invited to participate in an online survey about course marking practices for open educational resources, low-cost course materials, and zero-cost course materials at Canadian post-secondary institutions. Course marking is the process of assigning specific, searchable attributes to courses. Anyone employed by a post-secondary institution in Canada is eligible to participate. Participants should have some knowledge of course marking practices (or lack thereof) for open educational resources, low-cost course materials, and/or zero-cost course materials at their institution. You will be asked questions about course marking processes and motivations for course marking at your institution. You will be asked to share your institution’s name and the province or territory in which it is located. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete, and participation is voluntary. The survey will remain open until December 23, 2025. You can access the survey by clicking on the following link: https://surveys.mcmaster.ca/limesurvey/index.php/229323?lang=en You will be presented with a Letter of Information followed by a consent button before the survey begins. This research study has been reviewed and received ethics clearance by the McMaster Research Ethics Board (#7898). If you have any questions, please contact me at kharding(a)mcmaster.ca<mailto:kharding@mcmaster.ca>. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
