Dear colleagues,
BCcampus is soliciting public Open Education Week 2025 events to be added to the BCcampus events calendar<https://bccampus.ca/events/> and a BCcampus newsletter.
If you are holding an event for Open Education Week 2025 between March 3 and 7 that is open to external attendees, please send me an email at acheveldave(a)bccampus.ca<mailto:acheveldave@bccampus.ca> that contains the date and time of the event, a brief description, and a link to the event. The deadline for this content is February 20.
When promoting your event, I encourage you to make use of the official OEWeek Visuals Kit<https://oeweek.oeglobal.org/guide/visuals-kit/>, provided by OE Global. It contains logos, icons, banners, an event flyer template, badges, and a remixable OEWeek digital postcard<https://remixer.visualthinkery.com/r/6hVrYxcPWufP6mtZCbvA/TffEcl4XkzNsqwZKN…>.
I look forward to hearing about your exciting events!
Thank you,
Arianna Cheveldave she/her

Dear colleagues,
BCcampus has issued a call for proposals for B.C. Open Education Institutional Grants<https://bccampus.ca/grants-calls-for-proposals/british-columbia-open-educat…>. Three institutions will receive $33,000 apiece in the 2025/2026 fiscal year for the purpose of furthering their institutional open education programs.
This grant program is similar to the open education foundation grants<https://bccampus.ca/open-education-foundation-grant-for-institutions/> and open education sustainability grants<https://bccampus.ca/bccampus-open-education-sustainability-grant/> offered in previous years. Anecdotally, grantees have said that these have been some of the most useful grants offered by BCcampus Open Education, due to the wide range of activities that this funding could be used for.
The B.C. Open Education Institutional Grant is designed to be flexible, depending on the specific needs of your institution. Whether your institution requires support for OER publishing, developing a ZTC (Zero Textbook Cost) program, or redeveloping courses to incorporate OEP (Open Educational Practices), this grant provides funding to support these efforts.
You can register for a virtual information session about this grant program<https://bccampus.ca/event/open-education-institution-grant-information-sess…>. The session will take place on Wednesday, February 12 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific.
Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. Pacific on Friday, February 28. The call contains more details about guidelines for successful proposals, projects by previous recipients of similar grants, and the requirements for funding. If you have any further questions, please contact open(a)bccampus.ca<mailto:open@bccampus.ca>.
Sincerely,
Arianna Cheveldave she/her
