Dear colleagues,
Please consider forwarding to your students an invitation to participate in the OER Student Perception survey<https://ubc.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_1zgGSbs6rIQF9Mq>. Conducted by UBC, this survey is targeted toward B.C. post-secondary students enrolled in courses using open textbooks. It should take about 10 minutes to complete.
In the attached invitation, the researchers say this survey "will help us build a picture of how open textbooks impact the educational outcomes of students in B.C. The results of this online survey will help university instructors, administrators, student associations, policymakers, government officials, and other stakeholders make more informed decisions about the adoption of open textbooks."
Any questions about the survey can be directed to Dr. Surita Jhangiani (surita.jhangiani(a)ubc.ca) or Dr. Carolee Clyne (cclyne(a)bccampus.ca).
Best,

Dear colleagues,
This message is sent on behalf of Leva Lee and Britt Dzioba of BCcampus.

This call for open content closes on December 8, 2022.
In partnership with the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training (AEST) and the Digital Learning Advisory Committee—a group of people with deep and broad expertise and experience across the sector—BCcampus is pleased to be leading the development of a collection of open materials to support digital literacy in B.C. post-secondary institutions.
This collection will include high-quality, openly licensed courses and resources to support the development of digital literacy knowledge, skills, and abilities.
We are currently seeking content submissions for the collection that fulfill the requirements of the eight areas of digital literacy thematic competencies identified in AEST’s Digital Learning Strategy<https://etug.ca/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/AEST-Digital-Learning-Strategy-C…>: ethical and legal consideration, technology supports, information literacy, digital scholarship, communication and collaboration, creation and curation, digital well-being, and community-based learning.
Do you have digital literacy content that will help people accomplish any of the following?
* Understand the ethics and legal implications of gathering and sharing digital information.
* Learn about the risks and benefits of having an online presence.
* Discover and choose educational software, digital tools, and apps.
* Interpret and validate the information.
* Use technology to collect, analyze, and share research.
* Create multimedia that can reach different audiences and share stories.
* Create healthy boundaries with technology and use digital tools to maintain well-being.
* Communicate and collaborate meaningfully with digital communities.
*
If you answer yes to any of these questions, we would love to hear from you!
Content may be in the form of textbooks, courses or course materials, websites, videos, infographics, podcasts, book chapters, journal articles, tools, or tutorials.
Submissions must be openly licensed or be content an institution is willing to openly license and make shareable in the collection. Submissions will be reviewed by a group of evaluators from our sector prior to inclusion in the collection.
