Dear colleagues,
As of February 1, 2024, the B.C. Open Textbook Collection will no longer be hosted on open.bccampus.ca. The contents of this collection will continue to be available at collection.bccampus.ca<https://collection.bccampus.ca/>.
Open textbooks and open course packs have been hosted on collection.bccampus.ca since June 2022. Ever since this site was launched, there has been a notice on the home page of open.bccampus.ca letting users know about the new collection site. This notice has been revised to state the closure date of the collection on open.bccampus.ca. We will be sure to send out several notices to the community about the upcoming closure.
Information about adopting open resources and connecting with others in the open education community will still be available at open.bccampus.ca. We encourage you to explore the wealth of information available on the site and continue to spread the word about all things open.
Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us at open(a)bccampus.ca.
Thank you,
Arianna Cheveldave she/her

Hello,
Open educational resources (OER) are teaching and learning materials licensed to be freely owned, shared, and in most cases, modified. While the development of OER is rooted in the belief that education should be equitably distributed, the potential to develop, create, and share resources within Western understandings of knowledge and ownership of information, can run counter to Indigenous perspectives, traditions, and information practices.
Our research study seeks to centre the Indigenous perspective on open education principles and processes, with a focus on OER development in Canadian academic institutions. We are hoping you can support our study by participating and/or sharing the following information and participant invitations.
Attached is a social media package, including a blog post outlining the research collaboration. Please feel free to share these items through your organization's communication channels.
Below is a call for participation that can be shared via email.
Thank you for your support in spreading the word about this call for research participants. If you have any questions, please contact Erin Fields (Principal Investigator) at erin.fields(a)ubc.ca.
Sincerely,
Erin Fields on behalf of the Research Team
