Open Educational Resources: Finding, Remixing, Creating
Thursday, March 8
11:30 to 1:00pm
LB 119
"Educators worldwide are developing a vast pool of educational resources on the Internet, open and free for all to use."
This quote from the Cape Town Declaration (2007) describes some of the opportunities for instructors, librarians and students creating, using and remixing Open Educational Resources (OER). In this workshop, Lucas Wright and Krista Lambert, Open Education Advisors at BCcampus, will guide you through finding, using, remixing and creating OER. Join us for this hands-on workshop to learn about:
* How to find educational resources, including images, videos and texts that are openly licensed using Creative Commons or in the Public Domain
* Creative Commons licensing and how it relates to copyright
* How to remix and use open educational content in your courses
* Considerations and approaches for licensing your own work
Please bring a laptop.
