Good morning fellow Open Educators,
Some great news to start the day: two programs at RRU are going textbook free, and the reasons for doing is to not only reduce the costs for students, but also to modify materials to improve the way they teach and the way that students learn.Great to see the shift of OER to transform teaching and learning.

Good morning folks,
I meant to have shared this article a while back - it is from end of February.... but somehow it fell through the cracks. Having said that, I think it is still timely and includes a bunch of links to popular open pedagogy sites and resources.

Hi there fellow Open Educators,
This is a good read for when you have a bit of time... the report shares some data on #open<https://twitter.com/hashtag/open?src=hash> policy, adoptions and adaptations around the world: Understanding the Impact of #OER<https://twitter.com/hashtag/OER?src=hash>: Achievements and Challenges | OER Africa http://bit.ly/2GFCB3u<https://t.co/YjsoLU8rwr>
Interesting data on policy overall around the world. I know that the Commonwealth of Learning has made huge efforts in supporting Commonwealth countries in the development of National OER policies, but looks like that hasn't resulted in significant impacts in the respective countries... and some historical information on the evolution of Open in Canada and the role BCcampus has played.
Cheers,
Rosario
