This semester the Open Education Working Group received a record number of applications
for (Open Educational Resources) OER grants. I am delighted to announce that the following
projects were funded:
Celia Brinkerhoff (Library)
Creation of videos to supplement the interactive Doing Research modules aimed at
supporting information literacy
Arley Cruthers (Applied Communications)
Enhance and adapt the open textbook Business Communication for Everyone: An Inclusive
Guide to Writing in the Workplace
Sam Newton (Accounting)
Co-creation of an open textbook for Introductory Taxation with students using principles
of open pedagogy
Asma Sayed (English)
Remixing and adapting OER for Introduction to University Writing
In addition, the following team were awarded a Zed Cred grant:
Greg Simmons, Alana Abramson, Shereen Hassan, Dan Lett, Lisa Monchalin, and Wade Deisman
(Criminology)
Creation of an open textbook for Introduction to Criminology
Finally, I am also happy to announce that a new BCcampus OER grant for Adult Basic
Education was awarded to:
Terry Berg (Academic & Career Preparation)
Creation of an open textbook for Intermediate Algebra
