Dear colleagues,
The Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills, & Training has just announced funding to
support OER development for Adult Basic Education. This is very exciting news for us at
KPU, especially for our colleagues in the Faculty of Academic & Career Advancement,
many of whom are already active users of open textbooks. This funding provides more
support to adapt and create new OER where necessary.
From the press release:
“The Province is providing BCcampus, which produces open education online content, with
$250,000 to create or adapt textbooks for all courses in all levels of the British
Columbia adult graduation diploma (or adult dogwood diploma). Courses covered include
math, English, science, social science, computer studies, and education and career
planning.”
