October 22-28
International Open Access Week is a global, community-driven week of action to open up
access to research. The event is celebrated by individuals, institutions and organizations
across the world.
The library will be hosting 3 different workshops, in 4 separate offerings for your
scheduling convenience:
* Launch your own OJS journal: Get a tour of OJS from KPU Librarians and learn how it
can support your course or journal.
* Create and adapt using Pressbooks: Learn how to make accessible open textbooks.
* ZED CRED READY: Update your course so it has zero textbook costs! Find out how to
embed library resources into your course web sites.

Furthermore, on Wednesday evening please join SFU, BCIT, KPU, Langara, UFV and UBC and the
BC Open Education Librarians (BCOEL) group for this panel event on the topic of invisible
labour in open scholarship:
* OPEN BUT NOT FREE: INVISIBLE LABOUR IN OPEN SCHOLARSHIP. Enjoy an evening downtown
for a panel and discussion on invisible labour, sustainability, participation and
exclusion as they relate to Open Education. Date: Wednesday October 24, 5-8pm
