KPU Open Education is pleased to announce and congratulate recipients of the Summer 2021
Open Educational Resources Creation Grant:
Monica Affleck (School of Business) | Employee Development & Coaching, HRMT 3265
* Undertaking an open pedagogy project with students to replace the textbook
traditionally used in HRMT 3265, Employee Development & Coaching.
Katherine Carpenter (School of Business) | Introduction to Entrepreneurship, ENTR 1200
* Building ENTR 1200: Introduction to Entrepreneurship as an Open Education Resource
(OER) with UDL, open pedagogy, student agency and choice being the key guiding
principles.
Pamela Ip (School of Business) | Introduction to Marketing, MRKT 1199
* Creating an open educational resource (OER) textbook and ancillary resources for
MRKT 1199, Introduction to Marketing. Pamela has also received an Educational Leave for
this project.
John Shepherd, Robert Ironside and Andrea Hunter (School of Business) | Managerial
Finance, ACCT 3380
* Creating a practice test bank for ACCT 3380, Introduction to Managerial Finance
Rebecca Yoshizawa (Faculty of Arts) | Gender in Canada, SOCI 2240
* Undertaking an open pedagogy project with students to create a workbook for SOCI
2240, Gender in Canada.

About Open Educational Resources (OER) Grants
The Open Educational Resources (OER) Grant program provides funding and staff support to
regular KPU faculty members interested in creating, adapting, and adopting OER. Faculty
can apply for up to $4000 in funding to create OER or up to $2000 to adapt existing OER!
