There are a pretty limited number of sessions at the conference and the committee has to balance the different library sectors. Perhaps they do think that it is a been there done that situation. Good idea to think about the open textbook summit. Perhaps we could talk about that at our next meeting. We do have The Future is Open rescheduled coming up, so we should be able to catch quite a few library people there. I often slink away and hide after rejection, but I am willing to ask for a few comments from BCLA if my librarian colleagues here feel that is appropriate. Something like: “Our group would like some feedback on why our proposal was not accepted. For instance, did the selection committee feel it was too similar to one of our past BCLA sessions? In order to advance awareness of and action on the important issues related to education information resources, the BCOEL is committed to an ongoing effort to communicate with more people working in BC libraries and education institutions.
