As a Pressbooks account holder in pressbooks.bccampus.ca, you have been placed on a mailing list to receive notifications about upgrades, service outages, and other events that affect your Pressbooks account. These outages will also affect open textbooks in the B.C. Open Textbook Collection that are hosted in BCcampus' internal instance of Pressbooks (opentextbc.ca).

UPGRADE NOTICE

On May 11, from 7 to 10am Pacific Time, Pressbooks (pressbooks.bccampus.ca) will be upgraded to version 5.20. Your account will be unavailable during this time.

Bug fixes/updates:

• The division (÷) sign will now display correctly in the McLulan theme’s PDF exports.
• Instructions on the Book Info page have been updated for Thema and BISAC fields.
• Updated to Thema version 1.4, which includes 143 new subject categories and 549 new qualifiers.
• If your book uses out-of-date BIASC codes, you will now see an alert on the Book Info page to fix it.
• Links in the webbook's short and long descriptions will now work.

We are thoroughly testing the updated Pressbooks prior to the release and these improvements should not cause any issues with your existing books. But, if anything does come up, let us know right away by replying to this email. Looking for more information? Check out the Pressbooks Updates page.
