Dear colleagues,
I am happy to close out the year with the publication of a new open textbook at KPU. This
book, Student Engagement Activities for Business
Communications<https://kpu.pressbooks.pub/businesscomms/> is co-authored by Melissa
Ashman, Arley Cruthers, Sarah Duncan, Karen Inkster Vance, and Panteli Tritchew, all
colleagues in our Applied Communications program. The book is a compilation resource for
instructors of workplace writing and oral presentations. The activities in this book can
add value and energy to the classroom by engaging students in activities that support
their learning. Handouts, links, activity variations, and debrief questions are
included.
You can browse through or download the book (in a variety of digital formats) at:

Please join me in congratulating Melissa, Arley, Sarah, Karen, and Panteli. I have no
doubt that their collaborative efforts will inspire even more teaching and learning
innovation within and beyond KPU.
Warm regards and a very happy holidays to you all,
Rajiv
