Hello everyone,

Just a quick reminder that next week is Open Education Week and we have a slew of activities planned, including a multi-institution event at KPU Richmond (Wednesday), the launch of OPUS and a special Zed Cred announcement at KPU Surrey (Thursday morning), and hands on workshops in Richmond (Monday), Langley (Tuesday), and Surrey (Thursday).

Please RSVP to help us plan for catering (links below).

Many thanks,

Subject: [Openkpu] RSVP for Open Education Week events at KPU

Open Education Week (March 4-8) takes place internationally and KPU has a bevy of events to celebrate, inform, and gather! Here is a roster of the week's events so you can RSVP and plan your schedule:

March 6: Open In Action 2019. Join BCcampus, KPU, and other post-secondary partners at KPU Richmond for a day of hands-on learning on open education in practice and other engaging topics in this area of study.  (Description RSVP.)

March 7: Open Education Week and OPuS Launch Celebration. KPU Open Education is hosting an exciting morning event at KPU Surrey, for the launch of the Library's new Open Publishing Suite (OPuS) and a special announcement concerning the ZedCred initiative. (Event page and RSVP.)

March 4-7: Open Education Mini-Sessions. KPU Librarians will be hosting mini-sessions for instructors and those interested in using or creating open education resources. Held at multiple times and campuses, you can choose to sign up for one or all! You can learn how to create or use open journals in your classroom with Open Journal Systems, learn how to make open textbooks with Pressbooks, or get help updating your course so it's ZedCred ready! (Event page and RSVP.)

These events are opportunities to learn about Open Education and to meet other instructors and educational stakeholders interested in this area of study and practice.
