In case you did not click through the announcements to see the exciting news about KPU being awarded 2 new BCcampus grants, I’ve provided a link directly to the press release.

In short, KPU has received funding from BCcampus to develop our certificate in arts program to allow students to earn the credential without having to pay for textbooks. That’s an estimated $1,000 savings per year per student! The materials for students will be freely available and fully editable so that other institutions can benefit from them as well.

In addition, KPU also received an Open Education Resource Grant, which matches BCcampus funding with KPU funding for creating new open textbooks, redesigning existing resources, and providing workshops, training and other support services.

If you have questions, post it to this list and someone from the Open Working Group can get back to you.

Exciting times ahead!
