As a reminder, KPU now provides 3 levels of grants to support faculty and staff working with Open Educational Resources (OER):
OER Adoption Grants support faculty who wish to adopt OER in place of commercial textbooks and recognize the efforts involved in implementing this change. Successful individual applicants are eligible
to receive up to a $500 towards the professional development activity of their choosing. Teams of faculty may receive up to $1,500 towards a group event, project or activity.
OER Adaptation Grants
support the adaptation (customization/localization/update/remix) of existing open textbooks or other kinds of OER. Projects receive funding up to $2000 (which may be used to hire student assistants or provide honoraria to external collaborators) and
in-kind assistance from the Library's
Open Publishing Suite (OPUS).
OER Creation Grants
support the creation of new open textbooks or other kinds of OER. In addition to project funding up to $2000 (which may be used to hire student assistants or provide honoraria to external collaborators) and in-kind assistance from the Library's
Open Publishing Suite (OPUS), successful applicants for OER Creation Grants will also receive up to $2000 towards any professional development activity of their choosing.

The next application deadline for OER Adaptation and Creation Grants is
Wednesday, January 15. Applications for OER Adoption Grants are accepted on an ongoing basis until all funds have been allocated.
