Join us in celebrating Open Access Week 2018!

October 22-28

International Open Access Week is a global, community-driven week of action to open up access to research. The event is celebrated by individuals, institutions and organizations across the world.

The library will be hosting 3 different workshops, in 4 separate offerings for your scheduling convenience:

·         Launch your own OJS journal: Get a tour of OJS from KPU Librarians and learn how it can support your course or journal.

·         Create and adapt using Pressbooks: Learn how to make accessible open textbooks.

·         ZED CRED READY: Update your course so it has zero textbook costs! Find out how to embed library resources into your course web sites.

Register at https://www.kpu.ca/OpenAccessWeek

Furthermore, on Wednesday evening please join SFU, BCIT, KPU, Langara, UFV and UBC and the BC Open Education Librarians (BCOEL) group for this panel event on the topic of invisible labour in open scholarship:

·         OPEN BUT NOT FREE: INVISIBLE LABOUR IN OPEN SCHOLARSHIP. Enjoy an evening downtown for a panel and discussion on invisible labour, sustainability, participation and exclusion as they relate to Open Education.  Date: Wednesday October 24, 5-8pm
