Dear colleagues,

If you would like to adapt an open textbook (e.g., to localize/contextualize it) or create some openly-licensed content (e.g., modules, videos, question banks, etc.) to support your classes, please consider applying for an OER grant. The application form is brief and the turnaround time for a decision rapid. With this grant you can quickly get up to $2000 to support your project, which you could use for ~125 hours of student assistant support. For more information please visit: http://www.kpu.ca/open/grants

Questions about this grant or the application process? Please send an email to open@kpu.ca

Cheers,

Rajiv

Subject: [Openkpu] OER Grants: New application cycle & revised application form

Dear colleagues,

As you may know, KPU has offered small OER grants for the past two years to those interested in creating, adapting, and adopting OERs. These grants are jointly funded by BCcampus and the Office of the Provost and Vice-President, Academic and thus far have been used to support OER projects in Academic & Career Preparation, Languages & Cultures, Sociology, Asian Studies, English Language Studies, and the Learning Centres.

I am writing to inform you that the Open Education Working Group has recently revised the application process for these grants from rolling applications to 1 application deadline per semester (May 1, September 1, and January 15). For information about these grants (including eligible expenses, expectations, and evaluation criteria) and the brief application form, please visit: http://www.kpu.ca/open/grants

Thank you,

Rajiv
