Workshop: Introduction
to Open Pedagogy
In this workshop, participants will learn the "who", "what", and "why" of Open Pedagogy (OP) and then have an opportunity to explore OP options and ideas that may work in their teaching environments. Break-out
groups and spontaneous brainstorming will help direct the workshop activities. Participants should come somewhat prepared with an idea of a course they'd like to infuse with new pedagogical practices that better centre student discovery, expression, and experiences.

Open Pedagogy is an access-oriented commitment to learner-driven education. It is also a process of designing architectures and using tools for learning that enable students to shape the public knowledge commons of which they
are a part.
Open pedagogy can include creating, adapting, or updating OER with students, building course policies, outcomes, assignments, rubrics, and schedules of work collaboratively with students, or facilitating student-created and student-controlled
learning environments.
