Here is some further info on open textbooks and math….
At UBC the graduate students in mathematics, several years ago, put together an open database of problem sets and answers in the UBC Wiki:
http://wiki.ubc.ca/Science:Math_Exam_Resources
It’s an amazing resource that has replaced most text content in courses. There is a full list of all the courses that currently are using this tool.
Additionally, there has been a lot of development in our Math department on developing open texts . The full list can be found here with linked examples (Look at: Appendix: Sample of Open Textbooks Used at UBC):

Subject: Math textbook - care to participate?
Hello all
There was a BC Open Librarians teleconference yesterday and I thought I’d pass on something I heard there. It seems there are a few instructors at a couple of institutions that are working on math textbooks. Some of them are starting to
connect and possibly work together on one. If you are interested, or know of anyone that is interested, you can give them my name and I’ll set them up.
