Congratulations to the Wilson School of Design on its second Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC)<https://media.kpu.ca/media/What+is+the+Zero+Textbook+Cost+%28ZTC%29+initiat…> program—the Bachelor of Interior Design<https://www.kpu.ca/calendar/2018-19/design/interiordesign/interiordesign-de…>!
KPU’s ZTC programs allow students to pursue an education without spending a cent on textbooks. The IDSN program joins the Wilson School of Design’s Certificate in Foundations in Design<https://www.kpu.ca/design/find> along with five other ZTC programs. Search the KPU timetable<https://media.kpu.ca/media/Finding+Zero+Textbook+Cost+%28ZTC%29+Courses/0_o…> to find a growing list of for-credit courses without the cost of textbooks. Students who enrol in this four-year program can expect to save money!
Hear what Lucie Gagne, Chair of Interior Design, has to say:
“Our Interior Design Program is a highly regarded program, one that, in large part, focusses on student success. Given the global economy and issues of fundamental affordability, we have made it a priority to ensure the program remains viable and sustainable by finding cost savings strategies for our students. We are thrilled that we have been able to implement making the Interior Design Degree a Zero Textbook Costs (ZTC) program”
-Lucie Gagne, Chair of the Interior Design Program

H5P to Moodle Gradebook Integration
Do you use H5P in your courses? Would you benefit from seamless integration of H5P results into Moodle’s Gradebook? Pressbooks is piloting a program for course instructors interested in using H5P for assessment within courses. REAP ("Results Early Adopters Program"), is a service where student attempts on H5P activities within various chapters of a Pressbooks book are automatically sent to your LMS gradebook. To be eligible for the pilot program you must be teaching in Fall 2021 and use H5P in your courses.

Subject: [Openkpu] KPU's OPUS Team wins Outstanding Contribution Award from the BC Library Association
Dear colleagues,
It is with immense pleasure and pride that I share the news that our Open Publishing Suite (OPUS) Team has received the Outstanding Contribution Award from the BC Library Association<https://libguides.kpu.ca/library/news/KPUs-OPUS-Team-wins-Outstanding-Achie…>. This award is presented every year to an academic library team or individual who has made a real difference to students, faculty or colleagues in British Columbia.
Launched in March 2019, OPUS<https://www.kpu.ca/library/OPUS> - a suite of Library services and tools - was created to support faculty at various stages in producing their Open Education Resources. This support has helped foster the creation of over 20 Open textbooks as well as several journals and the inclusion of a variety of faculty authored materials in KPU’s institutional repository.
In addition to one-on-one consultations, the Team has also created several guides and workshops for faculty and students related to various aspects of Open Access and publishing, as well as sharing their knowledge with libraries at other institutions wanting to create their own Open publishing program.
Please join me in congratulating our wonderful colleagues and OPUS Team members:
Caroline Daniels, Systems, Web & Interlibrary Loans Librarian
Karen Meijer-Kline, Scholarly Communications Librarian
Paula Pinter, Library Technician
Beverly Whiticutt, Library Technician
Syreen Prestonji, Library Technician
