Reviews
* Starting March 18, 2018, the licence for published reviews changed from CC BY-ND to CC BY. (Older reviews still retain the CC BY-ND designation.) This was done to more easily share reviews with other collections. This information, along with a statement clarifying that the copyright for reviews is held by the reviewer, has been clarified on the [ https://open.bccampus.ca/call-for-proposals/call-for-reviewers-2/ | Review an Open Textbook ] web page on our website.
*
When open textbooks are replaced with new editions, PDFs of the reviews for the older edition are now compiled in a zip file and posted by the new version of the textbook. A README file is included in the zipped file explaining this arrangement and the reason for it.

The BCcampus Open Education team

Dear colleagues,
If you would like to adapt an open textbook (e.g., to localize/contextualize it) or create some openly-licensed content (e.g., modules, videos, question banks, etc.) to support your classes, please consider applying for an OER grant. The application form is brief and the turnaround time for a decision rapid. With this grant you can quickly get up to $2000 to support your project, which you could use for ~125 hours of student assistant support. For more information please visit: http://www.kpu.ca/open/grants
Questions about this grant or the application process? Please send an email to open(a)kpu.ca<mailto:open@kpu.ca>
Cheers,
Rajiv

As you may know, KPU has offered small OER grants for the past two years to those interested in creating, adapting, and adopting OERs. I am writing to inform you that the Open Education Working Group has recently revised the application process for these grants from rolling applications to 1 application deadline per semester (May 1, September 1, and January 15). For information about these grants (including eligible expenses, expectations, and evaluation criteria) and the brief application form, please visit: http://www.kpu.ca/open/grants

Dear colleagues,
Earlier this year, we organized KPU's first interdisciplinary Faculty Learning Community (FLC) on Open Pedagogy<https://www.kpu.ca/open/pedagogy>. Meeting over the Spring semester, the group explored a variety of open educational practices that go far beyond open textbooks and critically examined ways in which students and faculty can use open resources, open licensing, and open tools to work together to design powerful and authentic learning experiences.
This Fall will mark the launch of our second FLC cohort. The group will read a single article and meet for a virtual discussion twice a month on Fridays from 9-10am (beginning on September 21). The schedule of meetings and topics is as follows:
September 21: From open educational resources to open pedagogy [Reading<http://openpedagogy.org/open-pedagogy/>]
October 5: Diversity, equity, and inclusion through open education [Reading<https://www.cccoer.org/2018/06/28/on-equity-diversity-inclusion-and-open-ed…>]
