Hi there fellow Open Educators,
A week of awareness about Open Education, OER and Open Educational Practices is starting
next week (Open Education
Week<https://www.openeducationweek.org/events>)
To mark the occasion, BCIT is hosting one event on Monday, at the Library, to kick off the
week: Open Tools for Open Education. See attached flyer. Please circulate widely through
your networks.
In addition, to generate awareness to the importance of open education, BCIT is
co-sponsoring an event at The Shipyards campus of Capilano University, along with SFU,
UBC, Langara College and University Canada West:

Also, there are many free events going on online and in the lower mainland. You can see
event lists at the Open Education Week
calend<https://www.openeducationweek.org/events>ar and at the BCcampus
calendar<https://bccampus.ca/events/calendar-2/>. Most post-secondary institutions
in BC are hosting special events, so see if you can make time in your busy schedule to
attend at last one or two.
Cheers,
Rosario
