Hi there everyone,

This is a great resource that lists open textbook adoptions in Colleges and Universities, organized by course. So you can see what other institutions are doing when it comes to using OER in their courses and saving students money. If you see a course similar to what you are teaching, have a look at what OpenTextbook they are using. Maybe you can review it and consider it for adoption yourself in the future J

Cheers,

Rosario

I've collated the OER adoptions provided in this thread and added it to:

https://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Open_Educational_Resources/Adoptions

This is a public wiki, and is sortable and searchable. Everyone is free to contribute, make corrections, etc. In particular, please update the Discipline area if what I chose doesn't seem consistent with the way the course is offered on your campus.

Enjoy!

Of course, I also think it would be great! If we're all doing similar work, why not put it in the same place? (Can you tell I'm a librarian?)

In leading the OER initiative at Bay Path without a grant to jump-start things, it's become important to demonstrate the successes of OER at other institutions to help with buy-in from faculty and administrators. It would be a lot of work, but very worthwhile, I think.

I would love this resource, it’s helpful to know WHO to contact about their experience.

Hi Kelsey. I think a Google spreadsheet could work. What would be helpful if we could create a mini site that is tied to a basic database so visitors could search by course title or discipline and the location of the college.

Would a Google doc or spreadsheet work for this? We can all add our OER adoption links?

Thank you all for sharing your lists. Would it be possible for us to create one master list so it is easier for CCCOER members to see faculty adoption of OER across institutions?

Thanks,

Kelvin

Hi All,

I am getting a lot of requests at my institution for lists of which specific colleges/universities are using which specific open textbooks or other OER. If you are able to share some of discipline-specific information with me, I think it would go a long way in convincing folks here that OER works for diverse populations, especially in the sciences. (For example, XYZ University's BIO 101 class has adopted OpenStax Biology.)

Thank you!
