Hello Everyone,
We have just published the date (April 16, 2018) for the next two [ https://open.bccampus.ca/pressbooks-training-webinar/ | Pressbooks Training webinars ] . These sessions are open to all B.C. faculty and staff.
In addition to the Introduction session, we will also be offering: Intermediate 1: How to import and export files, and make textbook copies for open textbooks created or revised in Pressbooks. The intermediate session will include Pressbooks updates such as the new cloning feature.
For faculty and staff who do not have experience using Pressbooks, it is strongly recommended that they take the Introduction webinar before the Intermediate. These two webinars are conveniently scheduled so they can be taken on the same day.
For more information and to register, please see: [ https://open.bccampus.ca/pressbooks-training-webinar/ | https://open.bccampus.ca/pressbooks-training-webinar/ ]

Hi Everyone,
I received this email request to review OER resources, but was unsure if this is a legitimate entity (we get spammed with so many fake journals/conferences etc.).
Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of 'CHOICE' or the 'association of college and research libraries"?
Cheers,
Jessie Key Ph.D

Subject: Call for Reviewers from CHOICE
[http://files.constantcontact.com/884f6f49001/ee36fa34-cb1a-40d6-ad99-d385a3…]
Dear Jessie Key,
Choice, a publishing unit at the Association of College and Research Libraries, plans to release a new online database of open educational resource (OER) reviews called Open Choice. The service will feature a significant collection of critical reviews of OER materials targeted to teaching faculty, instructional designers, librarians, and university staff charged with acquiring digital tools for instruction (IT, instructional technologies, etc.)
I'm writing to ask if you might be interested in reviewing open educational resources for Open Choice. Reviews average 2,000-2,500 words. We will provide a rubric, which will assist with consistency in reviews and make them easier to write. All reviews go through a formal copyediting process. We are able to provide a honorarium of $200 for each review.
If you would like to serve as a reviewer of OER materials for Open Choice, please fill ou tthe following form (which should take 3 minutes or less to complete):
https://goo.gl/forms/gKVQymphwug7fu3H2<http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?f=001Pdrv6sPxBZZKIaZcckIz7Iq66bBpyiFty4lL-NVI4zB5…>
The deadline for this round of reviewer recruitment is on or about May 11th.
If you have questions about Open Choice or the reviewing process, please email me at mkarp(a)ala-choice.org<mailto:mkarp@ala-choice.org>.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Melissa
