Request - Bcoelsteering

      Hi there everyone, 

I have a request to make.... I have been invited to speak at the COPPUL meeting on March 2
in the afternoon. The attendance will include mostly Library Directors and Collection
Committee reps, as well as some staff. The group is interested to hear about OER
initiatives in Canada, what is happening in BC and the West and how libraries are coping
with "open" especially from the perspective of data-sharing from the perspective
of collections. 

Because the Collections aspect is so well represented, I thought that it would be great if
we could collect the perspectives of Collections Administrators at our libraries as they
deal with "open" in a series of short videos. So here is my ask - any chance
that you can engage some Collections folks at your respective libraries to do a short
video that deals with their own experiences with open? These could be 1 or 2 minute videos
and ideally I would get 3 to 5 pieces that I could integrate in my presentation. 

My plan is that during my presentation, we could show the videos and have an open
discussion about the issues that are brought up. 

I know that Hope Power already said she was going to put the word out. Hope, I can't
wait to hear from you! But if some of you could also engage your folks, that would be
excellent.
