Hello all,

Just an update on the Festival of Learning proposal.

I wasn’t able to attend the BCALS December meeting a week ago which was focused on issues of privacy but a colleague did attend and said it was really good. I contacted the presenters last week to see if they might be willing to reconvene and do a panel at the Festival of Learning. Only one person is able to commit. The Festival of Learning organizers have a policy that any one who is presenting has to pay a minimum of one day attendance fee, so that excluded one of the potential panelists and limits who is able to commit to a session. As a result, I am not going to submit the proposal. I apologize about this late notice as the deadline for proposals is today.

I did submit the proposal we discussed for BCLA. I’ll let you know if that proposal is accepted once I hear back from the program committee.

I think many of us will be involved in the KPU hosted Open Education Week event so, although it would be nice to have a BCOEL session at Festival of Learning, I think it is OK if we miss it this year.

Best, Lin
