Thanks so much, Brenda - sounds like a promising update! SFU Bookstore has been piloting
VitalSource since the move to remote instruction last spring, but so far it's been set
up as an optional (purchase by title) rather than a required (flat fee) platform for
faculty and student use. I'll be following this with interest for sure.

Hi all,
So Senate had a “lively” discussion about VitalSource yesterday. I was unable to watch
because I had another commitment, but apparently the VP Finance spoke and apologized
multiple times for the lack of consultation and how the announcement was written. He has
said that a full committee with students, faculty, and staff will be established to have a
consultative process to look at textbook affordability. So, it looks like it’s at least on
hold.
