This interview with David Axelrod seems to express some of it :)

Subject: [Bcoel] request for assistance
Good morning Librarians!
I have a "weird" request - something I am having trouble finding and I am hoping
you might be able to give me a hand.
In 2008 Obama credits his presidential win to winning the Iowa Caucus. His presidential
strategist was key to reminding everyone that getting to the presidency mean winning
Iowa.
Can anyone find me evidence of this? Details of how they won Iowa as a result of sticking
to a single goal?
Thanks
Amanda

For thousands of years the Coast Salish, Lkwungen, and W̱SÁNEĆ Peoples have walked gently
on the unceded territories where we now live, work, and play. We are committed to building
relationships with the first peoples here, one based in honour and respect, and we thank
them for their hospitality.
