UBC Library is excited once again to offer the
Open Scholarship in Practice workshop and webinar series.
Open scholarship, which encompasses open science, open access, open data, open education, and all other forms of openness in the scholarly and research environment, is transforming how knowledge is created and shared.
Join us for webinars and presentations exploring the practice of open scholarship – from new tools that can increase the reproducibility of research, to new pedagogies that become possible when students and faculty become co-creators engaged
in generative knowledge creation. Hear from colleagues who are incorporating “openness” in innovative ways to enhance teaching, research, and public impact.

Climate Justice and Open Research Panel
Date: Friday, November 4, 2022
Time: 11:00am – 12:00pm
Location: Online
This year’s Open Access Week theme is Open for Climate Justice. This focus “seeks to encourage connection and collaboration among the climate movement and the international open community. Sharing knowledge is a human right, and tackling
the climate crisis requires the rapid exchange of knowledge across geographic, economic, and disciplinary boundaries” (SPARC).
The Climate Justice and Open Research Panel, as part of the UBC Open Scholarship in Practice event, invites speakers to discuss their open research activities related to climate
justice on topics including but not limited to 1) openness as a way to address inequities and the impacts of climate change; 2) the challenges of open research within the field of climate justice; and 3) methods and modalities for sharing open research on
climate justice.
