Hello BC Open Education Librarians,

Cataloguers at KPU have been providing MARC records for the BC Open Textbooks for the past few years.   We are now being asked if it would be useful to catalogue other parts of the open education collection - such as course materials and ancillary documents.

Before embarking on this work we would like to hear whether your group thinks this would be worthwhile.  Is it something that would be useful to place in the library catalogue?  Is it helpful to have the ancillary materials appear together with the records for the open textbooks? Who are the users that this level of resource description would server?

Any feedback you can offer would be most welcome.  If you could reply by March 23rd I would appreciate it.

Thanks very much,
Linda Woodcock
