I just recently got involved with BCOEL, so I hope that's all right that I'm requesting input already!
I'm in the midst of creating an initial proposal to implement some form of OER at my institution as we currently do not use any open resources. I'm looking for some figures for the typical honorarium/stipend given to faculty who choose to adopt or adapt an open textbook to add to my report. If anyone is comfortable sharing the amount that is standard at your own institution or if you've come across good sources (preferably Canadian) that include dollar amounts that you can direct me to, I would be very grateful! We're in a very 'baby steps' stage, but I'm hoping to make a strong case to get started with open textbooks in the next term or two.

Open educational resources (OER)<https://www.lib.sfu.ca/help/research-assistance/format-type/oer> are gaining momentum in higher education as a means of making learning more affordable and accessible for students and creating new opportunities for instructors to adapt and customize resources for their teaching practice and subject area.
OER include any teaching and learning materials that have been made freely available and are openly licensed with legal permissions to use, adapt, and share their content. Examples include open textbooks, videos, lesson plans, learning modules, full-length courses ... and more! And unlike traditional textbooks, OER can be freely updated and modified by instructors, students and other collaborators as well.
Open pedagogy<http://openpedagogy.org/> refers to a set of innovative teaching approaches and practices made possible through the use of OER in the classroom. Through open assignments, technologies and approaches, students can be involved in engaging and meaningful course projects that contribute to public knowledge.

Call for Curriculum Designers/Presenters Open Educational Resources and Affordability RoadShow
ACRL is accepting applications from prospective curriculum designers/presenters to create and deliver a new ACRL RoadShow to support librarians in finding, using, and developing open educational resources (OERs). This introductory level, day-long workshop will be intended for academic librarians and library staff integrating OERs into their institutions and developing OER initiatives. The curriculum designers will plan and develop learning experiences for face-to-face and online learning intended to build librarians' knowledge and use of open education practices. The in-person workshops will be offered upon request on a licensed basis, as with the existing ACRL RoadShows<http://ala.informz.net/z/cjUucD9taT04NDQwNTI3JnA9MSZ1PTEwMDc0MzE3OTYmbGk9Nj…>. In-person workshops may also be offered at ALA and/or ACRL Conferences. Additional online offerings on open education would be part of ACRL's regular e-Learning program and could include a multi-week asynchronous course and one or more topical webcasts of 60-90 minutes each in an interactive online classroom.
The application deadline is May 1, 2019. A selection committee with representatives from the ACRL New Roles and Changing Landscapes Committee and ACRL staff will consider applications and conduct telephone interviews.
