Dear BCOEL colleagues,
I'm forwarding an invitation (below) to participate in a brief survey on OER and Open Pedagogy at Your Institution from Reza Ghajar, a MLIS student from the UBC iSchool who is working on a professional experience project with SFU Library this summer.
Reza is copied on this message, and can be reached directly with any questions at: reza_davallow_ghajar(a)sfu.ca<mailto:reza_davallow_ghajar@sfu.ca>

We're conducting a survey and your input would be appreciated. This survey from Simon Fraser University (SFU) Library<https://www.lib.sfu.ca/> seeks to identify some best practices that are advancing OER and open pedagogy at other institutions. We are particularly surveying librarians who are part of the BC Open Education Librarians (BCOEL) group. This survey will be used by SFU Library to help shape our OER strategy and practices. The deadline for this survey is July 15th, 2020. If you would like to receive a summary of our findings, please provide your email address at the end of your responses.
Please click on the link below to start the survey:

Dear colleagues,
BCcampus has recently opened two different calls for proposals that are closing in July.
The first call for proposals is for the Identification, Evaluation, and Development of Open Online Courses and Open Education Resources<https://bccampus.ca/grants-calls-for-proposals/call-for-proposals-identific…>, which closes July 15, 2020. Proposals will be reviewed as they are received, rather than once the call closes, as the deliverables deadline is August 15.
From the call: "This call for proposals is to identify qualified institutions, departments, or individual educators to work with BCcampus on the identification, evaluation, and development of open online courses (OOCs) and other OERs."
Up to $10,000 will be awarded for the development of each course. Teams of applicants must include B.C. educators. For more information about the call and how to apply for funding, see the link to the call.
The second is the call for proposals for the Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) Grant for Marketing Programs<https://bccampus.ca/grants-calls-for-proposals/zero-textbook-cost-ztc-grant…>, which closes July 24, 2020.
From the call: "BCcampus will award one grant (maximum $60,000) to a B.C. institution committed to the development of a Zero Cost Textbook (ZTC) Program (Diploma or Degree) in Marketing."
See the link to the call for more information about the grant and how to apply.
