The Open Licensing Playbook
Open licensing of instructional materials such as textbooks, videos, and other related resources makes possible free sharing and remixing which reduces cost barriers for students. Creative Commons provides the legal infrastructure for easily sharing creative works including instructional materials but how do the different creative commons licenses indicate a resource can be re-used. Join us for an interactive session of playbook license scenarios where you can test your knowledge of the allowed OER re-use based on license type.
Please join the Community College Consortium for Open Educational Resources (CCCOER) for our October webinar: When: Oct 12, 10amPST/1pmEST

Subject: Oct 19: OER Degrees Community Meeting
Dear OER Community —
In June, the national community college reform network Achieving the Dream (ATD) announced the largest initiative of its kind to develop degree programs using high quality open educational resources (OER). Involving 38 community colleges in 13 states, it is designed to help remove financial roadblocks that can derail students’ progress and to spur other changes in teaching and learning and course design that will increase the likelihood of degree and certificate completion.
Join us and invite your colleagues for an interactive webinar to hear early lessons learned including start-up considerations by participants of the ATD OER Degree program. Find out more about how your college’s OER efforts can benefit from the findings and resources being developed by this program. When: Wednesday, October 19, 10amPST/1pmEST
Featured Speakers:
* Richard Sebastian, Director of OER Degrees, Achieving the Dream
