Subject: [Canadaoer] Survey: BCcampus Open Education Digital Badges

Dear colleagues,
BCcampus invites you to complete a survey about proposed digital badges to indicate proficiency in open education competencies.
These digital badges would be earned by submitting evidence of existing open education work to be evaluated against a competency framework. This kind of initiative is known as prior learning and assessment recognition (PLAR). Badges would be available for open educators, open librarians, and open instructional designers. The goal of these badges would be to formally recognize the expertise of open education practitioners without requiring them to complete further professional development.
The results will be shared with an external contractor who will analyze the responses and provide recommendations to BCcampus. This survey is anonymous unless you share your contact information in the survey. Any questions or concerns about this survey can be directed to Josie Gray, Interim Director, Open Education (jgray@bccampus.ca).
Survey responses will be accepted until February 20.
Thank you,

Arianna Cheveldave, BA she/her

Coordinator, Open Education
