Dear colleagues,
BCcampus recently identified a cybersecurity incident affecting the servers for pressbooks.bccampus.ca and opentextbc.ca. As soon as we became aware, we activated our incident response protocols and began investigating the situation.
At this time, Pressbooks may be temporarily unavailable as we work to contain and assess the scope of the incident. Protecting your information and restoring full services is our highest priority. As such, we have locked all users out of editing pressbooks.bccampus.ca.
This means that you cannot edit your books at this time. This is in an effort to prevent any work from being lost.
What you should know:
We understand the importance of transparency and will provide updated information as our investigation progresses. In the meantime, we encourage you to use downloaded copies of books from pressbooks.bccampus.ca and opentextbc.ca or check
web.archive.org to see if a virtual snapshot has been made of the book you are trying to access.
If the book you are trying to access is hosted in the
B.C. Open Collection, contact open@bccampus.ca for a PDF.
Thank you for your understanding and trust.
Sincerely,
Arianna Cheveldave
